PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device enhancing the rate of meshing between the worm and worm wheel of a speed reduction mechanism to lower the surface pressure of tooth contact parts for enhanced durability, while eliminating the need to enlarge the modules of teeth as an output is enhanced. SOLUTION: This electric power steering device includes the worm 71a operating in conjunction with the rotating shaft 60 of a steering assisting motor 6, and the worm wheel 72a meshing with the worm 71a and attached to a steering shaft 4, and assists steering through the rotation of the motor 6.
