PURPOSE: A system and method for providing moving picture information based on a network is provided to provide moving pictures and display the original language being included in the moving pictures, and offer a caption function for translating and displaying the original language into more than one language and various application studying functions. CONSTITUTION: A communication network(10) performs an interactive data communication by performing a communication connection of an unspecified number of the general public. A client PC(20) installs a web browser for receiving moving picture information through the communication network(10), and outputs log-in data inputted by a user in accordance with predetermined data being inputted from a moving picture information providing server(30) in case of being connected to the server(30) by a user after the web browser is executed. Also, the client PC(20) outputs an initial screen for receiving moving picture being transmitted from the exterior after a log-in process of each user, and outputs a detail information requesting signal of moving picture information of the user being inputted through the initial screen or moving picture purchase requesting data. The moving picture information providing server(30) classifies the moving picture information constructed in a database prepared by a server operator in accordance with a user's log-in according to each item and provides the moving picture information as an initial screen of the client PC(20) and provides at least one moving picture detail information with respect to each item by responding to the detail information requesting signal of the moving picture information being inputted by the user in the initial screen, and sells the corresponding commodity through on-line in accordance with moving picture purchase data being inputted by the client PC(20).
