PURPOSE: An apparatus for a braking ladle car for an iron mill is provided which prevents interference and abnormal contact between wheels and brake shoes by installing a braking unit capable of braking the wheels at the wheel installation stand following along the rail together with the wheels. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for a braking ladle car for an iron mill comprises a supporter (20) which is horizontally installed in front of a wheel installation stand (6) of a ladle car; a guide rod (21) which is installed to the inside of the supporter (20), and to the end part of which nuts are coupled; a rod inserting stand (22) at the lower side of which the guide rod (21) is installed, and into which the guide rod (21) is inserted; a clamping frame (23) the center part of which is opened in an "U" shaped form, wherein the clamping frame (23) is installed at the guide rod (21) so that the clamping frame (23) is freely slidden to left and right sides of the guide rod (21); a fixing liner (24) which is fixedly installed on the inner surface of the opened one side of the clamping frame (23); an operating liner (25) which is installed on the inner surface of the other side the clamping frame (23), wherein the operating liner (25) is shown and vanished by a cylinder (17); a spring (4) which is elastically installed at the guide rod (21), wherein the guide rod (21) is penetrated to the inside of the rod inserting stand (22) of the side of the center part; and nuts which are coupled to the screw part in the front end of the guide rod (21).
