PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing and repeating data transmission system where security signals communicating fire breakouts and burglar intrusions are sent/received between a master unit and each terminal in a duplicate configuration, to enhance reliability of signal transmission and safety in daily life and effectively utilize wiring. SOLUTION: In the case of sending/receiving digital video signals, audio signals and security signals for breakouts of fire and crime prevention between a master unit 1 and terminals 11, 12,..., 1n, the master unit and the terminals are connected sequentially by using serially connecting wires L1, L2, L3,..., Ln. A common wiring L51 consisting of a couple or multi-couples of common line cables is used to apply parallel connection to the master unit and each terminal in addition to the serially connecting wires for reproducing downstream and upstream data and transmitting them from one terminal to another, and modems 51, 61, 62,..., 6n are respectively provided to the connection ends of the common wires of the master unit and each terminal for transmission and reception of the security signal and a state signal resulting from the operation state self-diagnosis conducted of each terminal.
