PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply an optimum transfer bias on a transfer roller in a stable state, as for an image forming device. SOLUTION: The image forming device is provided with an electrifying means for uniformly and electrifying the surface of a photoreceptor drum, an exposure means for irradiating the surface of the photoreceptor drum electrified by the electrifying means with exposure light according to with image data and forming an electrostatic latent image, a developing means for developing electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor drum, so as to form a toner image, an intermediate transfer belt 11 to which the toner picture is transferred, a transfer roller 14 for transferring the toner image transferred to the intermediate transfer belt 11 to a printing paper, and a cleaning means 15 for removing toner sticking on the transfer roller 14, and the resistance value of the transfer roller 14 is measured based on a current value flowing through the cleaning means 15, which comes into contact with the transfer roller 14 separated from the intermediate transfer belt 11.
