BOTH-SLEEVE COMPLEMENTING METHOD IN HDTV AND VIDEO SWITCHER USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the constitution of the both-sleeve complementing sub system of a broadcasting studio. SOLUTION: Plural SDTV video materials are converted to SDTV video signals up-converted so as to be suited to HDTV by a simple up-converter 20, inputted to a video switch 11, switched and selected to the SDTV video materials up-converted to the small number of HD by the video switch 11 and then both-sleeve complemented by a key generation part 14 and a video composition part 15 in a both-sleeve complementing device 12. As a result, both-sleeve video materials for both-sleeve complementation are also sent to one video switcher 10 and the need of distributing them to the respective plural up- converters 20 is eliminated. In the case that HDTV video materials are included in the output of the video switch 11 connected to the both-sleeve complementing device 12, TV video materials to be inputted are distinguished corresponding to the adjuster of the broadcasting studio or switch information from the video switch 11.
