PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal resistor including a specific metal, a heater having the metal resistor as a heat generator, and a gas sensor with the heater. SOLUTION: The metal resistor 2 comprises at least either one of tungsten or molybdenum, and at least one kind of platinum group elements. As the platinum group element, ruthenium, rhodium and iridium are preferable, among which ruthenium is especially preferable. When the total quantity of tungsten, etc., and ruthenium, etc., is taken as 100 wt.%, the quantity of ruthenium, etc., is preferably at least 0.5 wt.%, especially 0.5-50 wt.%. The heat generator may be formed by applying a resistor paste to a ceramic green sheet, then integrally burning it. As a ceramic base material 1, alumina and steatite, etc., may be used. |
