PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airtight container and a method of manufacture in which stabilized airtightness can be ensured even for high temperature high humidity test. SOLUTION: The airtight container 100 has an airtight section comprising a base section 120 and a cover section 140 being applied thereon wherein a gold (Au) layer and a tin (Sn) layer are laid on a part of the base section abutting against the cover section. When the gold (Au) layer and the tin (Sn) layer are diffused to form an eutectic alloy, the base section and the cover section are brought into sealed state.
