Compounds having 2-substituted, 7-haloindenes, of formula (I) in which: X is a halogen, preferably chlorine; and Q is an aryl, preferably, phenyl or naphthyl. The compounds of formula (I) can be reacted in the presence of a grignard reagent Ar MgX to prepare compounds of formula (II) wherein: Ar is a phenyl, a naphthyl or a 9-fluorenyl group.
