<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data recording and reproducing device capable of executing reproduction by using a common reproducing stream sending rate independently of the bit rate of a stream. SOLUTION: The data recording and reproducing device is provided with a packet selection part 13 for identifying the packet ID of an MPEG2 transport stream and selecting a PCR packet, a recording buffer 14 for storing the identified packet, a packet generation part 15 for generating a time stamp packet using time as information, and a packet insertion part 16 for inserting the time stamp packet into the transport stream. The device is provided also with a recording/reproducing control part 17 for recording the packet inserted transport stream and controlling reproduction, a time stamp packet selection part 20 for identifying the time stamp packet from data outputted from a reproducing buffer 19, a control part 21 for controlling the reading of data from the buffer 19 on the basis of the time stamp, and an output control part 22 for outputting the read data.</p> |
