<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic charge image developer which can polish an amorphous photoreceptor without producing flaws in a small amount of the abrasive used and which solves problems of odors and deterioration in images when silicon nitride fine powder is used as an abrasive of an electrostatic charge image developer. SOLUTION: As for the abrasive added to the electrostatic charge image developer, silicon nitride fine powder having an oxide film on the surface is used. The silicon nitride fine powder having an oxide film on the surface used is preferably prepared by a Si nitriding method to produce silicon nitride fine powder and then wet treating or oxidizing the powder or by an imide thermal decomposition method to produce amorphous silicon nitride, then calcining and crystallizing the amorphous silicon nitride in the presence of a minute amount of oxygen and if necessary, further oxidizing and treating to impart hydrophobicity.</p> |
