PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary apparatus including a holding brake in which a spline-coupled discoidal boss can prevent vibration during rotation of a rotating shaft. SOLUTION: In a rotary apparatus providing a did discoidal boss to a hub 2 integrated with the rotating shaft 1 via a spline-coupling portion 3 and also providing a spring 10 for energizing an armature 8 to control the rotation by sandwiching the disc boss 4 against a fixing frame 1 and a coil 11 for attracting the armature 8 against the energizing force of the spring 10.
