PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily judge the direction of mounting/dismounting with respect to a recording and/or reproducing device visually and tactually and to provide a shutter opening and closing mechanism suitable for the purpose. SOLUTION: The disk cartridge is provided with an optical disk 5, a cartridge main body 6 to store the optical disk 5 inside, an opening part 21 for recording/ reproducing provided on the cartridge main body 6 so that a part of a recording area of the optical disk 5 may be made to face outside over the inside and outside periphery, a shutter plate 25 provided so that the opening part 21 for recording/reproducing can be opened and closed, a shutter opening and closing mechanism 26 which is provided on the main surface of the cartridge main body 6, inclined in the width direction of the cartridge main body 6 and has a guide groove 34 supporting the shutter plate 25 movably, and a covering member 43 which is provided on the main surface of the cartridge main body 6 and covers the guide groove 34.
