PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multidirectional input device having power-saving specifications, by starting the application of voltage at the same time as when drivers move in the horizontal direction. SOLUTION: This device comprises movably bodies 10, 20, 40 held movably in the horizontal direction, switch portions A, which change from off-condition to on-condition, and direction detection portions B, which are composed of direction detection members 18, 28 and direction detected parts 62 and which detect the movements of the drivers 10, 20, and 40. By moving the drives 10, 20, and 40 in the horizontal direction from a prescribed position where the switch portions A are in the off-condition, and changing the switch portions A to the on-condition, power is supplied from the outside, and electrical signals corresponding to the movement of the drives 10, 20, 40 are outputted.
