Chip card (SIM) with wireless communication interface

A SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) chip card for cellular telephones contains a data processing system (20) with memory elements (200) for the storage of data containing at least subscriber identification data in a telephone network. Electric contacts (24) on the surface of the chip card make it possible to exchange data between the processing system (20) and a mobile terminal (1) into which the card can be removably inserted. The chip card contains at least one coil for establishing wireless communication between the processing system and a device 3 external to the said mobile terminal, under the control of the mobile terminal and without using the mobile communication facilities of the network.
