PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery that restrains irreversible capacity and enables the insertion/desorption reaction of lithium ion to utilize adsorption and double layer capacity and thereby has a high energy density as well as excellent characteristics. SOLUTION: The negative electrode is formed of a carbon material 6 which is made of a carbon material originated from grain grounds, for example, rice saccharide and a thermoset resin carbon material compounded with it having been mixed and calcinated. The composition ratio of the grain grounds, for example, rice saccharide is 50 to 90 wt.%, and calcination temperature is 1800 deg.C or more, preferably 2800 deg.C level. |
