<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine in an inexpensive constitution capable of reading and transmitting a transmission original, or transmitting picture data generated by a PC by being connected to outer equipment such as a scanner or a PC while the facsimile machine itself can be used only as a machine for reception by omitting a scanner function. SOLUTION: This facsimile machine is provided with a printer 7, a CODEC 9 and an image processor 8 for generating transmission data by encoding picture data, and for generating image data by decoding reception data, an MODEM 10, an NCU 15 for performing the transmission processing of transmission data, and for performing the reception processing of reception data through facsimile communication through the MODEM 10, and an outer equipment connecting means 14 for connecting the facsimile machine to outer equipment such as a scanner or a PC as necessary. Also, this facsimile machine is provided with a function to restore the equipment from an energy saving mode to a normal mode according to a control signal from the outer equipment.</p> |
