<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a conventional cell multiplex controller cannot compensate a multiple output waiting delay time with respect to cells of each delay quality class when cell traffic arrives at a burst. SOLUTION: The cell multiplex controller has a cell number counter 16 that counts the number of resident cells stored in each cell buffer memory 11 assigned for each delay quality class, a maximum cell number register 17 that stores a maximum delay permissible time of a multiplex output waiting delay time corresponding to each delay quality class with respect to prescribed multiplex priority as a maximum cell number stored in each cell buffer memory 11, a comparator section 18 that discriminates whether or not the number of resident cells stored at present reaches the maximum cell number for each cell buffer memory 11, and an input control section 19 that controls the entry of the arrival cell to each cell buffer memory 11 on the basis of the result of comparison.</p> |
