The invention relates to a solar collector which allows the permanent conversion of the whole sun ray energy spectrum into electricity. According to the invention, the solar collector is sherical-shaped and catches the sun rays at their actual size irrespective of the sun position on the vault. The collector uses some photovoltaic cells (1) located externally and some thermocouples located internally. The sun rays r s which fall in a circle of a diameter equal to the diameter D s of a collector, transfer a part of their energy to the photovoltaic cells (1) located ouside a covering (2). The photovoltaic cells (1) are located on the whole area occupied by a strength structure comprising some metal pipes (3) contained in a sealing strip (4) which constitutes the frame for some panels (5), which in fact are concentrating lenses of a circular or hexagonal shape, having the focal length D s/2. The sun rays r s which do not strike the photovoltaic cells (1) penetrate inside the solar collector through the panels (5) acting as concentrating lenses and focus in the focal point which coincides with the spherical collector centre. These concentrating lenses (5) concentrate all the sun rays falling in a circle of a diameter equal to the diameter of the collector on a heat exchanger (6) at a concentration ratio equal to 1 : 100. The thermal energy thus obtained is employed for adequately heating the thermocouples and concomitantly the cooling liquid acting as a carrier of the heat resulting from the sun, in a secondary heat exchanger (12) intended to ensure vaporization and the increase of pressure of a slightly volatile medium which will drive a heat engine, which in its turn will drive an electromotor.
