摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrode in which an active material will not fall off by using a binder that has an excellent mutual adhesion to active materials and that has also a strong binding power to the active materials. SOLUTION: The electrode for an alkaline storage battery has the binder containing thermoplastic xylene resin. The thermoplastic xylene resin does not melt either in moisture in the air or in an alkaline electrolytic solution in a battery as it is water-insoluble. Active materials becomes possible to be prevented from falling off in a manufacturing process and in a battery when an electrode circuit board coated with or filled up with an active material slurry is formed in either way of being soaked in a solution wherein thermoplastic xylene resin is dissolved, or of being soaked in an thermoplastic xylene resin emulsion solution added with an emulsifying agent, or of being coated with of filled up with an active material slurry added with thermoplastic xylene resin emulsion solution.</p>
