PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute an encoding device wit high encoding efficiency by efficiently analyzing the frequency of an audio signal. SOLUTION: When a supplied digital audio signal is easy to perceive auditorily and mentally, general harmony analysis with high precision is performed at small frequency intervals. When the signal is hard to perceive, on the other hand, wide frequency intervals are taken as result of detection of a decrease in the level f the residual signal by the general harmony analysis so that general harmony analysis with low precision is performed. Thus, the encoding device for the digital audio signal which has high encoding efficiency is actualized based on the obtained signals. |
