Production of a jewelry piece comprises providing a wax model (1) of the piece with a stalk (2) and hard facing with precious or semi-precious stones (3) so that they are well embedded in the surface of the model but protrude from it. The stones are wetted with a suitable fluxing agent before they are inserted into the model and the model is cast with a suitable composition which forms the casting mold. After the mold is filled with a metal, the cast piece formed is slowly cooled. Preferred Features: The stones are heated before they are inserted into the model.
