The present invention relates to the use of a factor that induces fibrosis for the manufacture of a medicament for improving or increasing body passageway or cavity integrity, wherein the factor is not fibrin or fibrinogen, poly(ethylene vinyl acetate), heparin, bFGF, or PDGF, and wherein the medicament is formulated for delivery to an external portion of a body passageway or cavity.
