<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cost estimation method and a device which enable even an operator who does not have the expert knowledge of estimation to speedily make an estimation of high precision. SOLUTION: A storage device 201 on a design information server is stored with geometric information on size, area, volume, etc., of a CAD system and property information on components such as raw material quality. A CAD terminal 100 obtains the value of the cost estimation factor of an object product to be estimated fully automatically from the geometric information and component property information stored in the storage device 201 and an estimating operator operates on the CAD system to obtain the value of the cost estimation factor by using an automatic information acquiring function of the CAD system. The cost is calculated with the obtained estimation factor information and the cost calculation result is displayed on the CAD terminal 100.</p> |
