PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacture method of an organic EL display element in which a circumstantiation of a luminescence display pattern can be done easily. SOLUTION: A transparent electrode layer 2 formed on a transparent substrate 1 is divided into display pattern parts 2Aa-2Ae for a luminescence display and reserve pattern parts 2Ba-2Bc corresponding to virtual division lines 7a-7c of a metal electrode layer 6, and pattern formation is carried out. By impressing voltage between the reserve pattern part 2Ba-2Bc of the transparent electrode layer 2 and the metal electrode layers 6, the metal electrode layer 6 is electrically divided along the virtual division lines 7a-7c.
