PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the fusion of a fuse at a receiver side due to excess currents, the malfunction of a relay switch due to each rush currents, and the failure of an operation due to secular change, and to exactly separate a line at the time of detecting excess currents. SOLUTION: This line abnormality monitoring device is provided with a separating circuit 11 using a MOS-FET for performing current limit and line separation under the variable control of en electric impedance and a monitor control circuit 12 for monitoring line currents, and for reducing and constantly limiting a current value under the control of the separating circuit when excess currents flow, and for separating the line under the control of the separating circuit 11 when the current limit continues for a prescribed time.
