Sertraline salts and sustained-release dosage forms of sertraline

Sustained release dosage forms of sertraline, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are disclosed. Sertraline is released at a rate of between 0.02 mgA/hr/kg and 0.6 mgA/hr/kg, or between 1 mgA/hr and 40 mgA/hr, where mgA is the amount of active sertraline. The dosage form must not release more than 70% of the sertraline in the first hour following administration. The dosage form is suitable for oral administration to a mammal.
