A light-emitting golf ball for use in the dark has a spherical body made from a transparent material with an outer casing provided with a cavity (3) in which there are compartments (6a, 6b) that are separated from one another by a partition element (5). These compartments contain one of two chemiluminescent components, which emit light once they have been mixed with one another. The partition element (5) is of frangible design, in such a manner that an impact load exerted on the outer casing causes the partition element (5) to break, after which the chemiluminescent components can mix with one another and cause the ball to emit light.
