PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode material that can exhibit high volume energy and a lithium secondary battery using the same that can exhibit an excellent cycle characteristics. SOLUTION: This is a positive electrode material for lithium secondary battery and the lithium secondary battery using the same, in which the positive electrode material contains a lithium-iridium based complex oxide or lithium- ruthenium system complex oxide and the complex oxides contain at least one kind of cobalt and nickel.
