PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the increase of the driving torques of a stirring/ carrying means and the increase of grids due to developer clogging. SOLUTION: The developing device is provided with a developer carrier 3 which is rotatably arranged in a position facing the developing opening of a developing housing 2 and for carrying and transferring the developer D, and the stirring/carrying means 4 which is rotatably arranged behind the developer carrier 3 and for stirring and carrying the developer D, and the developing housing 2 is provided with a new developer replenishing port 5 for replenishing the new developer D including carrier and a developer discharge port 6 for discharging the developer D, and the developer discharge port 6 is formed on the downstream side in the developer carrying direction by the means 4, and also, a control means 7 for controlling the movement of the developer D toward the developer discharge port 6 is rotatably arranged between the stirring/ carrying means 4 and the developer discharge port 6. |
