PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the manual operation of a person in charge by increasing the number of bills which are substantially collected by performing correction processing for a loss area formed in a cassette. SOLUTION: This automatic transaction device has at least a stacker for storing bills, a bill unit having the cassette 7 which replenish the stacker with bills and collects bills, and a control part which performs control at the time of transaction and automatically perform reception and payment processing according to customer's operation, and the control part is equipped with a loss area correction control means which falls bills stored on the upper side of a lifter 11 in the cassette 7 on the lower side of the lifter part 11 and reduces the loss area formed in the cassette 7 when a mechanical full state is detected at the time of the collection of bills.
