PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding core protective member or a broad rolled photosensitive material which maintains the safety and photographic performance during transportation and physical distribution, decreases the number of members, achieves the facilitation of physical distribution management of parts and the reduction of the man-hours for stages and facilitates the property to take the photosensitive material out of a housing outer box. SOLUTION: The winding core protective member which is inserted into the hollows at both ends of a winding core for the rolled photosensitive material, has an outer diameter meeting the inner diameter of the winding core and integrally has a cylindrical projecting part in the central part of a substrate of a square shape is formed to a box shape of which the side walls are risen from the respective sides of the substrate in a direction where the cylindrical projecting part is formed. A pair of the side wall central parts facing each other are dropped and are formed as the ribs of the other two side walls facing the same.
