PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the abnormality detector of a communication bus for improving the reliability of communication through the communication bus and a microcomputer connected to the communication bus. SOLUTION: This abnormality detector 13 for detecting the abnormality of the communication bus 4 is connected to the communication bus 4 and is provided with timer counters 37 and 43 for measuring the time that signals provided with a first logic level are transmitted in the communication bus 4 and comparators 41 and 47 for outputting timeout detection signals for indicating the abnormality of the communication bus 4 in the case that the time measured in the timer counters 37 and 43 exceeds a threshold.
