PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of performing an operation immediately responding to the operation from the outside while transferring the through image of higher quality to the outside in real time, and to provide a recording medium in which a control program for realizing an external controller capable of remotely operating the digital camera is recorded. SOLUTION: This digital camera 1 and a personal computer 2 are mutually connected through the different communication routes of USB and RS-232C. A control command is sent from the personal computer 2 through the RS-232C to the digital camera 1 and the through image is transferred from the digital camera 1 through the USB to the personal computer 2. In the case of performing the remote operation from the personal computer 2 and performing photographing in the digital camera 1, even when the data amount of the through image is large, the digital camera 1 can photograph the through image without causing any delay while viewing the through image displayed on the personal computer 2.
