CIRCUIT AND METHOD FOR COMPENSATING NONLINEAR DISTORTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit and a method for compensating nonlinear distortion with which the circuit scale of a transmitter can be made smaller and current consumption can be reduced as well. SOLUTION: The nonlinear distortion compensating circuit of the transmitter having a quadrature modulation part 3 for applying quadrature modulation to I and Q baseband signals and a power amplifier 4 for amplifying the output power of the quadrature modulation part is provided with an attenuator 6 for attenuating the output of the power amplifier with an attenuation rate which is the inverse of an amplification factor in the power amplifier, a first divider 7 for dividing the output of the attenuator by the input signal of the power amplifier, a carrier generator 8 for generating a carrier signal and a second divider 9 for dividing the carrier signal generated by the carrier generator by the output of the first divider. The quadrature modulation part is constituted to apply quadrature modulation to the I and Q baseband signal with the output signal of the second divider.
