PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication unit and a communication method that can ensure a transmission rate without the need for man-hours and cost for installation of a blocking filter or the like and interconnect a low speed communication unit and a high speed communication unit. SOLUTION: A bit number assignable to each tone is calculated for each communication unit, individual bit assignment is decided for each communication unit and the communication units are managed while being divided into a master communication unit and slave communication units.
