A main drive gear-wheel (5) and reduction gear (4) are mounted on the top part of the lift cabin. Chains (2) extend around the gear-wheels (5) connected via axles to the reduction gear and are secured to the steel cables (20) for the lift cabin and to a connection device above the lift cabin. In the event of the lift stopping in between floors, a passenger can activate an emergency power supply designed to make a device for preventing the lift cabin from dropping disconnect the lift cabin from connection device, enabling the lift cabin to be moved down away from the device. The emergency power supply also activates a braking current actuator (7) for the main drive gear-wheel so that it can be turned in order to drive the reduction gear and the gear-wheels for the chains, causing the lift to be lowered. |
