PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability and safety by making a decision whether a drive signal delivered to an induction motor is normal or not. SOLUTION: A control unit 13 operates a target torque command value Ts depending on the steering torque signal To of an operator and a motor drive circuit 16 outputs an AC three-phase drive signal corresponding to the target torque command value Ts. Consequently, an induction motor 5 generates an auxiliary steering force corresponding to the steering power of the operator. A drive signal deciding section 24 compares the means value of actual voltages VU, VV, VW detected by voltage sensors 10, 11, 12 with the one half value of the source voltage of a battery. Since a decision can be made whether the induction motor 5 is driven normally or not, reliability and safety can be enhanced. |
