PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of periodic error signals included in a reproduced signal. SOLUTION: A video signal corresponding to one rotation of a magneto- optical disk is reproduced by the reproducing laser power of an initial value to obtain an error rate, then the error rate for every 30 deg. of rotating angle is stored in the error rate storage area of a work area table 76a, and the reproducing laser power value p0 is stored in the laser power value storage area respectively. As to the rotating angle such that the error rate exceeds the correction limit of an error correction code, the optimum reproducing laser power, the error rate of which becomes lowest, is obtained and replaced with the initial value p0. The periodic reproducing laser power is formed by making the reproducing laser power value stored in the error rate storage area the continuous value by the linear interpolation. The laser beam with this periodic reproducing laser power value is emitted by making it synchronize with a rotational phase of the magneto-optical disk, then the video signal is reproduced.
