PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate output K=10×[10T/2048] corresponding to input data T=0 to 2047 at high speed in a recorder using a 8 bit MPU. SOLUTION: When the input data T is developed to hexadecimal numerals as T=X×162+Y×16+Z, it is given by a formula (n). (1) an operation table A in which values AH, AL to obtain 10×10X*16*16/2048 corresponding to digit values X=0 to 7 are preliminarily calculated and displayed, (2) an operation table B in which a value B to obtain 10Y*16/2048 corresponding to digit values Y=0 to 15 is preliminarily calculated and displayed and (3), a calculation table C in which a value C to obtain 10Z/2048 corresponding to digit values Z=0 to 15 is preliminarily calculated and displayed are prepared, each of the values AH, AL, B, C corresponding to the digit values about the input data T is calculated from the table (1), (2), and (3) and the last index calculation output K is obtained by using the calculated values of AH, AL, B, C by easy calculation.
