PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fit both the usual horizontal type screen and the vertical type screen by releasing heat effectively by preventing a ventilation path in a back surface of a PDP. SOLUTION: A Y electrode group 2 and an X electrode group 3 disposed in parallel on a front substrate of the PDP1 are extended to any end of both sides divided for every block and faced horizontally, and are disposed as shifting a position opposed to every block to right and left both ends while forming an XY connecting part 5ab for connecting with a drive part 7 in the end of the both sides. A electrode group 4 of a back surface substrate of the PDP1 is extended to any end of the both sides divided for every block and faced in a vertical direction, and is disposed as shifting the position opposed to every block to upper and lower both ends while forming an A connecting part 5c for connecting with the drive part 7 in the end of the both sides. Draft of a lateral direction and a vertical direction is improved by providing the ventilation path between the back surface substrate and a chassis.
