PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device, where deterioration in a partial cleaning function, is not generated and no great variation in load is imparted to the operation of a transfer drum. SOLUTION: In the device, two transfer cleaners 16a and 16b, consisting of fur brushes and backup brushes 17a and 17b, are installed faced to each other with a transfer sheet 5f in-between. In regard with the direction of rotation of the transfer drum 5a, a space 'd' between the transfer cleaners 16a and 16b and in a same way the space 'd' between backup brushes 17a and 17b are set to be greater than a width 'w' of a connecting plate 51, connecting rigid body rings 50A and 50B constituting a transfer drum 5a.
