A method for inhibiting degradation of collagen by UV photoaging of human skin, comprising the daily application of a combination of a UVA blocker, a UVB blocker and an MMP inhibitor to the skin at least 8 hours prior to exposure of the skin to UV radiation. The MMP inhibitor may be selected from NAC, FDO and vitamin C.
