PURPOSE: A flame-retardant heat-isolation material as interior material in constructional field is provided to replace commercial plate type styrene-based foaming material as heat-isolation material. CONSTITUTION: The flame-retardant material comprises sodium silicate solution well known as non-flammable and flame-resistant material. The prepared material is effective to replace the existing heat-isolation material having flame-friendly property used in a wide constructional application. The common heat-isolation material is plate type styrene- based foaming material containing petroleum product easily and rapidly burned at firing and generating harmful gas. In order to solve such drawback, the improved flame-retardant material is produced by coating outer and inner sides of the material with sodium silicate solution in a desired content based on total amount of the material.
