PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a potential control method and an image forming device capable of always and surely obtaining a bright part potential corresponding to each dark part potential even in the case of using a different dark part potential in accordance with a usage situation, while performing the adjustment control of the dark part potential and the bright part potential to form an image on an electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: In the image forming device 1, in order to perform the adjustment control of the dark part potential and the bright part potential, first, an exposure amount for obtaining the 1st bright part potential is found, and then, an exposure amount for obtaining the 2nd bright part potential is calculated as the product of the exposure amount and a function taking the dark part potential as a variable. A similar adjustment control is performed by using a function taking an applied voltage on an original illumination lamp capable of appropriately modulating the exposure amount and used as an optical physical quantity and the applied output value of laser as variables. |
