PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a translated sentence familiar as Japanese by omitting an unwanted personal pronoun or the like without making semantics inexact concerning the translation system of example base. SOLUTION: Corresponding to a specified example to occasionally require the omission of a word or phrase in the case of translation as shown in a figure 4, for example, plural translation patterns and selection conditions thereof are described in a dictionary for syntax analysis. These selection conditions can be decided only from a syntax tree prepared by syntax analysis. Therefore, within the common frame of example base, sentences can be translated while omitting a personal pronoun or the like, which damages Japanese-likeness in the case of translation, and without increasing the processing amount, and without omitting a personal pronoun required for clear semantics. |
