PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably reproduce a wobble reproducing signal even during the reading period of the header area whereon the wobble is recorded, in an optical disk device such as a DVD-RAM. SOLUTION: When the frequency of a wobble detecting signal is largely changed, for instance, during the reading period of the header area, this change is detected by a frequency fluctuation detecting circuit 33 to open switches 25a, 25b. Thus, the storage of a phase error signal supplied from a phase comparator circuit 24 and a frequency detecting signal supplied from a frequency detecting circuit 32 into registers 26a, 26b is interrupted, then based on the phase error signal and frequency detecting signal already stored in the registers 26a, 26b just before the interruption, the reproduction of the wobble reproducing signal in a VCO 29 is performed.
