PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of preventing the wear of an intermediate transfer body and cleaning toner remaining after a secondary transfer process by a cleaning device for the intermediate transfer body, simultaneously destaticizing the intermediate transfer body, and capable of performing a reuse system which causing the trouble of color mixture even in the case of eliminating a cleaning device for an image carrier, and then, capable of unnecessitating the new installation of a destaticizer for the intermediate transfer body. SOLUTION: The cleaning device 13 is arranged on the upstream side of the intermediate transfer belt 8 in the rotating direction and on the downstream side of a secondary transfer part, but, on the upstream side of a 1st transfer part, and the device 13 is provided with an electrostatic charging roller 14 which comes into contact with the intermediate transfer belt 8 and a blade 15 which comes into contact with the electrostatic charging roller 14. An asymmetrical AC voltage as a cleaning bias is applied to the roller 14 by a high voltage power source 17, and as for the AC voltage, a time T- when the AC voltage is kept negative with the same polarity as the normal polarity of the electrified toner is set so as to be >60% of one cycle T.
