Tele-management system comprises a number of petrol stations, a system administrator or central controller site, a collection of agent sites, each corresponding to a petrol station and a network connection linking the system administrator to the all of the agents. An Independent claim is made for a system for managing individual petrol pumps where the pumps and agent of each station are connected via a local area network. The agent is connected to the system administrator and this allows individual petrol pumps to be centrally managed, e.g. their rate of discharge changed, faults detected. A further Independent claim is made for a method of managing a fuel distribution network using a centralized tele-management system.
