Solid-liquid filtering method involves passing liquid through thick band of filaments to filter and capture solid by supplying liquid in direction of filament retention. The filament band comprises closely paralleled monofilaments of given length, in which one end is fixed while the other is floated to keep the band in a plane at a location by a support only when each filament is forced to turn in a regular direction. An Independent claim is included for a solid-liquid filtering system.
